Christ-Centered Ministries (CCM) hosted its inaugural Thanksgiving Feast & Community Celebration in Inglewood, creating a day filled with dignity, warmth, and gratitude for hundreds of guests experiencing homelessness, hardship, or food insecurity. Led by Pastor Troy and Pastor Darlene Vaughn, CCM transformed its campus into a welcoming dining hall where more than 1,000 meals, gift bags, and holiday supplies were distributed with compassion and care.
Community members like Darnell—who preferred not to give his last name but insisted on saying thank you—lined La Brea Avenue early, grateful to find a place where they felt remembered. “I’m grateful that people still care,” he shared.
Supported by nearly 200 volunteers, CCM and Restoration Family Worship Center served plate after plate of turkey, ham, vegetables, and hot rolls. The event embodied CCM’s long-standing mission of restoration, rooted in Pastor Troy’s own journey from military service to homelessness to national leadership, and now back home leading the movement he founded in 1999.
Local dignitaries Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Pastor Charles Blake II, Lady DeAndra Blake, and partners from West Angeles Church of God in Christ, Manna Feast Catering Services, and LARRP joined CCM in demonstrating a united front of compassion and service.
“We’re giving people more than a meal—we’re giving them love, care, and connection,” said Pastor Darlene Vaughn. “For many, that goes a long way during the holidays.”
This Thanksgiving marked only the beginning of CCM’s renewed chapter—one where restored lives lead the restoration of an entire community.
